Chelsea star can become one of world's best - Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned the footballing world that Eden Hazard has the potential to go onto to be one of the best players in the world.

The Belgian ace arrived at Stamford Bridge from Lille back in the summer of 2012 for £32m, and has been a first-team regular throughout this campaign.

Jose Mourinho the London Evening Standard: "Eden can become one of the best players in the world. Now he sees his football and profession with different eyes.

"Everyone knows he is a talented player, that he was that when he arrived here. But now he is trying to go to a different level, we are helping him and he is doing it step by step.

"Hopefully, the big talent can transform himself into the big player."

Hazard has scored nine goals in 20 appearances in the Premier League and has delivered match-winning performances on a regular basis.

Mourinho added: "He trains much better, he concentrates much better. Tactically, he has had a big evolution.

"He understands how to put his qualities on the surface of the team. He understands the best way to hide his weaknesses."

The Belgian midfielder will be doing all he can to help the Blues to win the Premier League this year, with Chelsea currently third in the table just two points adrift of Arsenal.

This year also offers Hazard the chance to play a starring role for Belgium at the 2014 World Cup - and if he can remain fit and firing, he will surely be on the plane to Brazil with his national side.

Chelsea host Manchester United on Sunday afternoon and looking at the current form, Mourinho will not be too worried about his unbeaten home league record.
