Selena Gomez, you’re an inspiration for badass girls all over the world! The ‘Good For You’ singer spoke in a new interview about the people attacking her appearance — what she really thinks about them.
Selena Gomez, 23, is as tough as she is gorgeous. She told Power 106’s The Cruz Show on September 11, that while those who have dissed her weight seemed cruel, she’s tired of paying them any mind. She had some choice words for those body-shamers, though, and she didn’t have any qualms about saying them!
After chatting for some time about her new music, host Cruz asked Selena about her decision to go topless on the cover of her new album, Revival. Selena was very calm and collected in her response. Over the past year, Selena got a ton of hate for simply gaining a few pounds, and she described it as “hurtful” — especially because she really liked her new figure!
She went topless because she was taking back what people took away from her with their rude remarks. “This is my time,” she said. “I’m not gonna give a f**k what people say. I’m not going to let them get to me. I’m going to do what I want.”
Hear, hear, Selena! She looks absolutely amazing, and she knows it — whether or not some jealous meanies on the Internet agree. Her new album is all about regeneration and finding out more about herself; it’s only fitting that it includes a bare and raw representation of herself on the cover. How empowering!
